VietNamNet Bridge – After a meticulous selection process, Luong Truong Tho has been recognized as a master-grade member of the World Art Foundation (WAF), an organization of professional painters based in California, USA.

Before joining WAF, Tho, 61, who graduated from the Gia Dinh Art School, was a member of the California Art club and the Exotic Art Club in Hamburg, Germany. Now Tho’s name is listed among WAF’s newest members (www.worldartfoundation.org).

With its slogan “We are people with a mission building a global nation,” WFA chooses members from countries around the world who share the language of popular art. They gather to help each other improve their skills, exchange information and professional knowledge as well as provide opportunities to expose their works to the world’s art market.

The Dream

WAF was founded by Jojo Marengo, the manager of 21 art and lifestyle magazines in California. He is also the organizer of the World Art Expo California 2009, which attracted more than 200 artists from 50 countries.

The diversity of WAF can be seen through the names of its members, including famous artists like Michael Cheval, Vladimir Ovtcharov, Jeff Sadowski, Aleksander Balos, Serap Yardimci, Gabriella Garza, Tomasz Alen Kopera, Betzaida Gonzalez and Sevgi Cagal.

Tho has also been invited to the “All America Tour” mobile exhibition. During their tour, WAF displays paintings, statues and visual art works by 30 of its members in various locations: Los Angeles, Laguna Beach and La Jolla in California; Scottsdale and Sedona in Arizona; Santa Fe, New Mexico; Chicago, Illinois; Cleveland, Ohio; Pittsburg, Pennsylvania and New York.

The exhibition aims to introduce outstanding WAF members to curators and the media in the most important art metropolises in the US. Their artworks will be exhibited at the most prestigious American galleries.
