VietNamNet Bridge – Vietnamese contestants at the Miss World 2009 and Miss Tourism Queen International 2009 pageants are on Global Beauties website’s 50 Faces of the Year 2009.

After her success at the Miss World 2009 (the 12th contestant of the Beach Beauty, the 2nd of Top Model and entering the semi-finals), Tran Thi Huong Giang was voted as the “Sexiest by Popular Demand” by readers of Global Beauties, a prestigious website on international beauty pageants. She also ranked the third in the “Sexiest Woman Alive” poll.

Giang is now in a competition with beauty queens around the world and another Vietnamese contestant, Thai Ha, who represented Vietnam at the Miss Tourism Queen International 2009 in China.

The “Face of the Year” top 50 comprises some familiar names like Australia’s Rachel Finch, the fourth of the Miss Universe 2009 pageant, Barbados’ Leah Marville, who recently won the “Sexiest Woman Alive” title on Global Beauties, Mexico’s Perla Judith Beltran, the first runner-up of Miss World 2009 pageant.

“Face of the Year” is an annual poll on Global Beauties, besides “Miss Grand Slam” (beauty queen of beauty queens) and “Sexiest Woman Alive.” However, only contestants of the five largest beauty pageants in the world (Miss World, Miss Universe, Miss Earth, Miss International, Miss Tourism Queen International) can join “Miss Grand Slam” and “Sexiest Woman Alive”, while candidates for “Face of the Year” can come from national pageants.

From thousands of girls participating in national and international beauty contests, Global Beauties has chosen the best 50 faces. A 30-member jury will select the top 25, top 15, top 5 and the winner. The selection will run in the next two weeks.

The winner of last year is Jacqueline Bruno, a contestant of the Miss USA pageant.
